BMW i7 India details
On sale in eDrive50 and M70 variants; priced between Rs 2.05 crore-2.5 crore
As mentioned above, the i7 launched in India in January 2023 as the xDrive60 at Rs 1.95 crore with a 544hp dual-motor setup. However, BMW India replaced the xDrive60 with a 449hp single motor variant in the form of the eDrive50 in October last year. The i7 eDrive50’s 101.7kWh battery pack has a WLTP range of 603km, and can be charged from 0-100 percent in 10 hours and 45 minutes, using an 11kW AC charger. However, a 195kW fast charger takes it from 10-80 percent in just 34 minutes.
Do note that the BMW i7 is also on sale in M70 xDrive form (Rs 2.5 crore), powered by the same 101.7kWh battery, but having a total output 650hp and 1,015Nm going to all four wheels. The i7 M70 has a claimed WLTP range of 560km on a single charge. However, the offer introduced on the i7 eDrive50 is not available on the i7 M70.
In India, the BMW i7 eDrive50 rivals the likes of the Mercedes EQS sedan (Rs 1.63 crore). The i7 M70, meanwhile, has no direct rivals, but did previously see competition from the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+.
