Citroen C3 CNG launched at Rs 7.16 lakh

The Citroen C3 is now available with a dealer-level CNG kit fitment, which is priced Rs 93,000 more than the variant on which it is based. This means that the Citroen C3 CNG is priced from Rs 7.16 lakh.

Lovato CNG kit for Citroen C3

Citroen India dealerships have tied up with Lovato to supply and install the CNG kits in the C3 hatchback. The single cylinder CNG kit has a water equivalent capacity of 55 litres, and the brand says one could go 170-200km on a full tank. Citroen has confirmed the CNG kit is only available with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine, which develops 82hp and 115Nm when run on petrol. While the French brand has yet to reveal the output figures when on CNG, it claims an ARAI fuel economy figure of 28.1km/kg. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard. Citroen also claims that the rear suspension has been upgraded to ensure ride quality is unchanged from the standard petrol model.

C3 CNG price range is Rs 7.16 lakh-9.24 lakh

Citroen says the C3 CNG is available in four variants – Live, Feel, Feel(O) and Shine, with prices ranging from Rs 7.16 lakh and Rs 9.24 lakh, ex-showroom, India. The brand offers the same 3-year/1 lakh km warranty for the CNG components as it does for the C3.  

Compared to other CNG-powered tall-boy hatchbacks like the Maruti Wagon R and sub-compact SUVs like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter, the C3 CNG is priced higher than the Maruti. However, the Citroen undercuts the Tata and the Hyundai.
